The first edition of de Havilland Biplane Transports culminates work started over 30 years ago by Paul Hayes, one of the GAS founders.
Family and work commitments stalled his dream of knocking all the material into shape for publication. Paul finally passed over his work to the Society's Chairman at Christmas 2001 and it was intended that the book would be published in autumn 2002.
A desire to include other closely related de Havilland built biplane transports, necessitated the planned publication date being put back. The joint author's illness throughout much of 2002, meant further slippage but to the rescue came other members of the committee and the book is now available by mail Order.
